Lykan Animal –

“He’s a clown and performer, a burlesquer and an aerialist, a singer and a dancer, a cook and martial artist! Winner of the Belfast Crown in 2015, BBF and Heart of Burlesque 2012, Best Overall 2015 and Best Troupe 2017 at DBF. Aerial performer and choreographer in Ether’s ‘Mirror Mirror’ 2012 and ‘Landfall’ 2013, and co-choreographer of ‘That Boy Band Act’ UNDERcurrent 2017. Cooker of that potato gratin and brown belt in Shotokan Karate. Basically there’s not much this entertainer can’t do.

You’ll laugh you’ll cry, you’ll gasp, you’ll wonder. You’ll hate him. But love him.”

I began performing in college, the Drama Society at UCD. In 4 years I appeared in over 20 shows, playing everything from a 7 yr old boy, Blue Remembered Hills, to a Gentleman Caller, The Glass Menagerie, and to a Young Robin, Batman: A Musical Tragedy.

After college, 2010, I got into Burlesque and Cabaret, creating and choreographing new shows monthly and performing at The Sugar Club, Club 22, Longitude and Electric Picnic. I have won multiple awards at the Dublin Burlesque Festival; Heart of Burlesque 2012, Best Overall, 2015, Best Troupe 2017, have won the Belfast Crown at the Belfast Burlesque Festival 2015 and most recently took 2nd Runner Up in the first ever Mr Boylesque Ireland. Currently I perform and choreograph with the Seriously Camp Cabaret troupe UNDERcurrent.

In 2012, I took up aerial, joined and co-founded the Aerial Theatre Company – Ether Productions. Our 2012 Fringe show, MIRROR MIRROR, received 5 star reviews from the Irish Times and Irish Theatre Magazine and was a sold out run. Our 2013 Project Arts Centre show, LANDFALL, broke box office records. We toured our 2014 Show, The Locked Room. We also took part in international workshops on street art, spectacle and performance in Newcastle, Marseilles and Dublin.

I have personally performed at corporate events for AIB, Facebook, Workday, and Amazon both in aerial and as burlesque or walkabout. Currently I am developing a new solo show incorporating aerial rope, dance, poetry, and song on an outdoor rig. I hope to bring it to theatres and festival in 2022.
